Shortcut to add 1 to a cell?

I've got an inventory spreadsheet where I frequently need to add or subtract 1 unit from the cells in the "# of units" column. (if someone buys something or returns something)

Is there a way to create a script / shortcut that would allow me to add or subtract 1 unit to the current value in the cell with a click or keystroke, rather than having to manually change (for example) a 4 to a 5 if I want to add one unit into the inventory?

I found a way to do it in Excel, but I'm trying to never use Office again, and I love my Numbers spreadsheets!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

Yvan,

Thanks for pointing out that selections could be the focus of a sort in Numbers 08 tables. It's mentioned on page 75 of the Numbers 08 user guide, which I know I read some time ago but apparently forgot.

I think the Numbers 09 Filter Panel design is an improvement since it clearly refers to selected rows, not cells. Numbers 08 Sort Panel makes no mention of the ability to isolate the sort range and the documentation doesn't hint that entire rows will be moved, not just the content of cells in selected rows and columns.

I personally prefer that the default sort range is Entire Table. In either case, there is an element of risk and the user should stand ready to Edit > Undo if the results aren't to her liking.
