Question

401 Unauthorized

I want to open the admin. area from my router, but I can't access the router via 192.168.1.1

401 Unauthorized

Authorization required.

Somebody knows the solution?

P.s. Via explorer is it not a problem

I don't think you are going to be able to. I have the same issue with a Linksys WAG54G and have not seen a solution to it. Something about the router sending incorrect authentication information and Safari being too strict to allow it. A firmware update in the future may solve it.

It don't show the form to add the user and password name. It has something to do with the security settings.

There must be a way because how can I otherwise update the settings from the router?????

With my windows computer I can easy access

As I said above I have not seen a way for Safari to set up a Linksys router. Simply use another browser for setup. Personally I use OmniWeb. Given that you touch the router settings very little the time it takes for you to use another browser is nothing more than a slight annoyance.

who makes the router? Is the password defaulted? if so, look

I have never had an issue with either of my 2 Linksys/Cisco Routers. They can be accesed from Safri W/O any issuses.

Hi Paul,
Then you are lucky, but here it doesn't work. I installed Omniweb and I could access without any problem the admin area of my router.
