M5884 Requires a 28v AC adapter rather than standard 24v ??

I have a some G4 Powerbooks that came from a college .. All of them worked once I got AC adapters except for two M5884 500MHz G4's. These laptops say they take 28vdc adapters as opposed to the others that say 24vdc ... I can't find 28v Mac AC adapters anywhere ... should the standard 65w powerbook adapter work with these or do I need to dig deeper for the correct adapter? The power jack just lights orange when I plug in a standard 65w 24v adapter .... Has anyone else run into this? I'd hate to just scrap out these cute laptops ....

M5884, Mac OS X (10.4.11)

The 65W power adapter currently offered by the online Apple Store will work with any G4 Powerbook — Titanium or Aluminum, any size screen — or any iBook G4. It's explicitly advertised by Apple for use with all of them. 65W third-party adapters are similarly advertised for use with any PB G4. If two PB G4s don't work with a 65W Apple adapter that works fine with other machines, those two PBs evidently have problems.
