OS 10.3.7 update and Safari https

I have a G5 at work and a G4 and G3 at home. I ran the automatic 10.3.7 update through software update on the G5 and G4 then noticed them both having the same problem. No matter what browser I use (i.e. Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Mozilla) I can't connect to secure sites, any sites with https.

On the G5 I have a WAN internet connection and at home on the G4 and G3 I just got Direcway satellite internet service. Both computers were accessing the internet just fine until I ran the OS update. Direcway was able to bypass the problem but now my (very expensive) satellite internet access is sooooo sloooowwww at home. I can't even connect through Safari at work. I am running 10.3.2 on the G3 at home and it connects to the secure sites but is slower than it was before.

I am running the most up-to-date Java and cleared the cache as the "safari is super slow" posts suggested. However I haven't re-installed the update yet. Please help! I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

I noticed "Our House" user is also on Direcway, how is your service?

I have the same problem on my iMac DV : Safari can't access HTTPS site. I have tried eveything on the discussion board with no success. Everything is fine in Firefox or IE. Also, Safari works fine on my Powerbook connected via Airport to my iMac DV internet connection (using internet sharing). I did not install the latest security update on the Powerbook but I did on the iMac.

Hi Christian, Sounds like we have the same problem. I'm going to try installing the 10.3.8 update in the next day or two to see if it clears up the problem.

If you or anybody else does the upgrade, please post your results on whether it resolves the Safari connection issue.

Look like Cusqueno has had some luck with 10.3.8 although his issue seemed more to do with slowness when trying to connect to a secure site.

Thanks.

hmmm... I had a similar problem with iTunes after the last iTunes upgrade. See link below for steps I took to resolve based others advice (basically removing iTunes plist files) and restarting iTunes.

It didn't help this person, but might help you.

10.3.8 doesn't sound promising :((

Hi all... just an update on what I've done, which allowed Safari to connect to secure sites...

- Deleted Safari plist
- Restarted from OS CD
- Repaired permissions (fixed 1 item), Repaired disk (nothing found wrong)
- Restarted from drive
- Downloaded 10.3.8 (full update)
- Installed update
- Repaired permissions (again) - Fixed about 4 items.
- Restarted
- Ran Safari and it connected securely to Apples site

I haven't check extensively by going to other secure sites, but seeing it connect to Apple on login when it hadn't at all since the last security update was promising.

Thanks.
