Making the return key move right instead of down

Hi,

I don't know if anyone knows a way of doing this, but I'd like to be able to enter my data row by row. In Excel you can define the return key to move along a row instead of down a column. Is there a way of doing this in Numbers please? If not, is there another key that will move along the row?

Stuart,

The Tab Key will move you along the row. At the end of the row, hit Return and the next cell selected will be back in the first column, one row down. If this doesn't happen, check the option Return Key Moves to Next Cell under Table Options in the Table Inspector.

Jerry,

Many thanks ... it's so obvious when you think about it 😉 I particularly like the way the enter key works after you've been tabbing. Doesn't just go back to the first column of the table, but it goes to the first column that you started your data entry in!!

There are ways to fool the program, but it does try to do the right thing!
