10.5.7 - Bluetooth keyboard and mouse not working anymore

Updated to 10.5.7 and since then after some minutes my Appley wireless keyboard and the mighty mouse do no work anymore.

Note that the connection is not lost. When I then turn bluetooth off, the system tells me that the connection got lost and when I turn it on again it works as before. But after some minutes it won't works.

This happens on a new MBP.

How can I solve this problem?

MBP, Dual Xeon, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Bluetooth on macos X was always buggy. I use Nokia BH 503 Stereo headphones and twice a week I have a kernel panic! Every time I lose my work. Insane...
And this is system oriented on multimedia ...

So is the problem with the wireless keyboard - after last update for it, which was described as "resolving repeating and disconnecting issue" I have one - twice a day situation, when keyboard 'locks'. Key, which was last pressed, is being printed for 3 - 4 seconds, connection with keyboard is lost and it blinks with it's green led.

After yesterday's 10.5.7 update ... I have this problem every 10 minutes!
It messing up my code all day! This shiny keyboard becomes completely useless!
I'm so angry! Deadline and useless keyboard. All in one day!!!

Hey apple - students from my university make better bluetooth stack than you! Even in pure assembly language!

I'm having the exact same problem with my BT Mighty Mouse. It looks like it might be model specific as well. I have a newer MBP 15 inch that I use for work (MacBookPro4,1 - 2.4 GHz) and the mouse will work for a while, then just disconnect with the same symptoms as Jeremy C.
However, I take the SAME mouse home to use on my MBP 15 inch (older model) and I have no issues whatsoever. And at home I use an Apple BT Keyboard and the same mouse with no issues.
But this all happened since I've applied 10.5.7. And I've even reapplied 10.5.7 on the problem machine (with the ComboUpdate) just to eliminate that issue.

That looks like an entirely different problem to me (and to the problems described here) I dont have the bluetooth control panel vanish, I just have iMac think its connected to the mouse when it isn't. Switch bluetooth off/on and it restablishes connection.
Its also hard to understand why repairing permissions would apply here, I am new to macs but already I think I am learning that 'repair permissions' is not dissimilar to 'reformat C drive' as a universal panacea.

Same problem here.
Everything was working fine with my MBP 15" + Apple wireless kb + Apple mighty mouse on 10.5.6 but since I updated with the Combo Update, both kb and mm (mm more often) suddenly stop working even if they results to be still connected to the MBP.
Switch off and back on (kb and mm) doesn't work, but if I switch off and back on the bluetooth on the MBP everything start to work again.
That's pretty annoying and I think it's a bug of 10.5.7.

im having the problem now that i have 10.5.7. i can be using the mouse and suddenly neither keyboard or mouse works. Have to get usb mouse which works fine then go to bluetooth settings - disconnect mouse and keyboard then reconnect and it works fine.

I deleted the keyboardtype plist and did the SMC reset this afternoon. Will see if this fixes.

I have had problems with BT mouse (it works great... on 10.4.11 and other machines using 10.4.11) but not with 10.5.6 and now again with 10.5.7 on my MacBook 2.16ghz 13" polycarb unit.
The tracking is eratic...the buttons function well...BUT NOT TRACKING....slow...to stop to fast and that is not workable. iHell?

What is apple thinking?....hmm what colour should be make the next iphone? ...how to unload a warehouse of old USB mice?

OR MAKE THIS ONE WORK FIRST!!!!
