Be careful - be very careful. If you really don't know what Limewire is, then someone on your computer does, otherwise a shared LW library couldn't appear (it is a LW Preference to check if iTunes can be used). LW is peer-to-peer software (like Bit Torrent only smaller scale), and it is used to illegally download music, software, video, whatever. You need to check out how it appeared on your Mac so you don't get implicated in anything.

Unless it's simply someone else on the network using it and sharing it.

My problem is that a Windows computer & user that was (until last week) on my home network downloaded and installed Limewire. Now, I get "So & So's Limewire" showing up as "shared libraries" on all the iTunes accounts on my iMac.
Currently, I have Preferences set for "look for shared libraries" but no longer am sharing my libraries.
I can still connect to these "shared libraries" and stream from them ( complete with stream "dropouts",) so I wonder whether they can access more than just my iTunes libraries?

BTW, Sharing is turned off in System Preferences & no longer on a shared Internet connection.

If you have *Share my library on my local network* unchecked, they are not even accessing your library.
Just because you can see theirs does not mean they can see yours.

Go to System prefs -> Security and click the Firewall tab.
Make sure it is set to *Allow only essential services*.
Click the Advanced button and tick *Enable stealth mode*.

You can post over in the Mac OS forums and get further help on making sure your router is set-up correctly so others cannot get thru it to your machines.
