University of Pittsburgh Email Set-Up

Hey, I just got an iphone and I need some help setting up my email on the iphone to work with my University of Pittsburgh email account. Please help me by providing easy to follow steps. I've found this link that explains Pitt's "mobile device and enterprise email" http://www.technology.pitt.edu/Documents/email-accounts/accessing-email/mobile/M obiledevices_and_EnterpriseEmail.pdf I know this works because I did it in the past with my blackberry. I think the main problem involves finding the correct Incoming Mail Server Host Name and Outgoing Mail Server Host Name... Please Help!

I believe IMAP. I had this set up with my blackberry so I know that it works. But, I believe IMAP.

Go into Settings-Mail and add a new account. Select Other at the bottom and fill in the details as requested.

Sorry, I don't understand where you're having a problem and you're not giving me much detail to work from. I think you'll have better luck by calling the technology help desk listed in the document you linked to. To setup and account with 'Other', ask them the following...
- IMAP or POP
- Incoming Mail Server
- Outgoing Mail server
- username and password

That's all the info required by the iPhone.

Paul, no problem. I did call the tech help desk, but they appear to only help with blackberry devices for some reason. He gave me a big story about how they cant help with mobile device3s because they are all different....

Then I would try the following settings...

incoming mail server: imap.pitt.edu
outgoing mail server: cwmx.com (from this at&t article... http://www.wireless.att.com/support/knowledgeBase.do?content=KB72769.html)

add in your username and password and see how it works.

Edit: If you can't send email over 3G or wifi, then the outgoing server may be a problem. If that's the case, then you either need to get an outgoing mail server from Pitt or setup a GMail or Yahoo account and forward your pitt email to there. You could also go to the Computer Science department and probably get some help there.

thanks paul, im going to give it a try. for some reason i have the mail client set up on mac to work with my pitt email; however, i cannot figure out how to do it on this iphone. i think the problem has been with the information for the outgoing mail server.. but, im going to give this a try and report back.

Ah, a little more detail... just use the same settings on your iPhone as you did on your mac, i.e. the outgoing mail server.

Can anyone help me how to use UIMenuController .I had read the documents and implemented but still i could not able to see the menu control on the view.But the notification for menu shown also raised.......
