unable to access afp

Hi Everyone,
thanks for helping us novices here.
We run a 10.5.7 server on a mac mini. It is the new 2.26 4GB Ram.

When using the server on our Wlan everything works fine. When working from home, my ADR finds the server and logs in properly. However, I can not get access to afp.

Any steps I need to check to make sure everything is a-OK?

Hi,
You are leaving a lot of configuration details out which makes the number of trouble nodes very high.
But since you are having the problem at home (assumption: not having problem away from home) but your client is finding the server, could it be you have an AEBS in the network? In which case, turn off personal file sharing or disk drive at the AEBS because it will intercept the requests for afp through port 548.

To get AFP up and running, ensure service is enabled at the server settings, configure login authentication method (Standard, Kerberos, or Any Method), setup logging levels, set the rules for idle users, SAVE and Start AFP.

HTH,
Harry
