Folders won't expand when dragging files

On my MacPro, when I'm dragging files from one folder to another, I've noticed that the folders won't expand anymore when I hover a file over them like they used to.

This slows down the process of moving files to buried folders as I'm forced to drag the files from sub-folder to sub-folder until i reach the destination.

What can I do to remedy this issue? It works as expected on my MacBook Air and my old PowerBook.

Thanks in advance for any solutions!

In the Finder, use the menu Finder -> Preferences to open Finder preferences. Under the General view check the "Spring-loaded folders" item (near the bottom). If it's enabled, I'd try this: turn it off, close the Preferences window, open the Preference window again, then enable that feature again. If it still doesn't work, I'd try adjusting the delay. If all else fails, in the folder "your_home"/Library/Preferences drag the file com.apple.finder.plist onto the Desktop, then relaunch the Finder.
