iTunes burns only 1KB-Audio-Files

Hi,

since the last update (8.1.1.10) i can't listen to the audio-cd's burned with iTunes. the burning process starts, runs very fast, quits without an error, the cd has the correct name and title list, but the first two songs hae a totally wrong time (e.g.: 4:15:09 and 11:49:41 instead of 5:04 and 5:16, which is the correct time). in windows explorer you can see, that the audio files on the cd have only 1 kb. if you play the cd in iTunes, the player jumps from one song to another in an infinite loop without playing music.

the cd-burner is o.k. and runs with nero etc. without problems.

has someone an idea?

That does not necessarily indicate a problem, since normally Windows Explorer does not show the audio files, only the .cda files which are one per track and have size of 44 bytes (thus show as 1 kB). If you look at a good CD you will probably see the same thing.

Now that is a problem! Possibly something got messed up in the 8.1 upgrades, as there have been many similar reports here. If you want to try hacking the Windows registry, there are some instructions on Apple Support, although I do not recommend it. Or, you could just use Nero until the coast is clear.

Hi,

after the update to iTunes 8.2.0.23 i could burn 1 of my playlists on CD, but that was the only one, after that, my old problem occurs exactly as in version 8.1 every time I try to burn a playlist on CD:

I try to burn a CD, the burning process starts and is finishing after a short time and e.g. the second song on the disc has a completely wrong information about the length of the song, e.g. 1:45:13 instead of 2:35. I can play the CD, but ist stops at the song with the false lenght.

Any idea?
