Are there iMac-compatable voice recorders?

I'm looking for a portable digital voice recorder to record meetings, interviews, etc. The only ones I can find are only Windows-compatable. Does anyone make one for the iMac?

Please excuse me if I posted this in the wrong place...my iMac is the computer that I would download the files to (as MP3 files?), so I thought this would be the most appropriate forum.

Anyone have any experience/ideas/suggestions?

Thanks,

David aka "The Writerdog"

A lot of people use digital voice recorders, but there aren't too many easy transcription solutions out there. If you don't mind doing the typing yourself (in other words, no voice recognition), you might want to try Transcriva by Bartas Technologies ( http://www.bartastechnologies.com/products/transcriva/ ). It works on Panther and Tiger and supports Spotlight searching.

Is someone using Express Scribe? I am a transcriptionist and I usually work with DSS from Olympus. But with DSS (with which I am greatly satisfied), I can't handle .wav files. To solve this, I bought a V pedal to work with Express Scribe but it refuses to play some .wav files. It loads them but "duration" is empty. It seems to be a problem related to codecs and I really don't know how to solve this. The same .wav files won't play with QuickTime either.
