Time machine for piracy?

If time machine backs up all your software on an external HDD, what's to prevent hooking up some laptop and pirating all the software to another machine?

macbook, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Yes, I know. And it's the same thing that prevents them from doing it by stealing your Mac.

How is it any different (except that your Mac is more expensive)?

You need the same sort of physical security for both.
