I wish someone would answer this. I'm having the same problem. 2 digital copies loaded onto iTunes but the screen is blank and no sound. The length and file size are good and the movie even scrolls through the chapters.

What gives?

I'm a 10 year user of Blackberry who just switched over to the iPhone and I'm ready to chunk it in a nearby lake. iTunes tries to control every content on my PC... and now it won't even work.

I have the same problem - no digital copies are playing (tried Hulk & all 3 X-Men) but other movies play fine including one with "the same" codec. Apple wasn't able to solve it (not "their problem"
as other movies play fine), and Fox/Universal/Marvel just don't care as it's not happening to everyone. Best guess is it's a compatibility issue between certain systems/software. Yeah, I know, that's real helpful. I tried reloading latest iTunes/Quicktime/system updates & the movies - no effect. Tried erasing the "AppleUpstreamUserClient.kext" as suggested in another thread - no effect.
Stuck now with a lot of motivation to pirate stuff rather than paying only to get nothing.

I think I found something that will work. I had this problem with two digital copies. After trying vlc player and having that not work i decided to try any other similar programs and when I tried Quicktime player a message popped up that this pc wasnt authorized to play this blah blah blah but had an option to go to itunes and do so. This computer was already authorized this is what I downloaded it on but I reentered my password and as soon as I did I finally got sound from quicktime but no video so I closed that and tried one last time on iTunes and it now works fine.

The tactic above works - i just tried it with my digital copy of Watchmen that wouldn't run either on my Ipod or PC. Tried to open it with Quicktime - said not authorised - reentered password - first i got sound only - closed it down - tried to open it again in quicktime and suddenly it works. Synced Ipod and now that works too.
Thanks for the tip!

Okay im pretty new at using quicktime and itunes so please forgive the ignorant question i am now about to ask, i have exactly the same problem as described earlier on with xmen origins: wolverine, everything goes as it should untill i try to play it on intunes or my ipod, the quicktime solution obviously is viable and soudns great except coz im new at this i dont know how to do what it is your saying to do, i've tryed to go with the 'open with' option you get somtimes and cant find quicktime, basically i wanna know how to open the file on itunes with quicktime in order to fix it like you guys have, nothing i have tried will let me open the file with quicktime.

please help, this is the only forum i've found that has exactly wot im looking for

okay i found a solution that worked for me because the quicktimeone i didnt understan so what i did was this: First i opend iTunes and started playind the movie that wasnt working. Then there was no sound or picture as i expected so i went to the top left corner that says file, edit view etc. and i scroled over all of them and saw that on the advanced tab it had an option that says authorize video or whatever but i know it sayd authorize. then it asks you to just enter your passward to your apple ID and tada! all the movies that didnt work start playying!

I recently bought UP by Disney Paxar with the digital copy. I just downloaded the digital copy but when I tried to play it itunes, there was no audio/video. The title screen will pop up along with the chapters, time, volume, etc. but there was just a grey screen playing nothing. I checked out these forums and found that there was a solution involving quicktime. The quicktime solution did not work so I kep on searching. There was a guy who said something about authorizing/deauthorizing the movie. I tried this out. I opened up itunes and ran the movie. Again, a blank grey screen appeard. I went up to the FILE navigation bar over at the top left hand corner of the screen and went to STORE over to the right. There I clicked on "deathorize computer". It asked me for my password and username, and i filled it out. After typing in my password, I tried playing the movie UP againg and it once againg asked me for my password t authorize my computer. After inserting my password the movie played and worked perfectly.
