For those of you who have the problem where you only see a GRAY SCREEN and de-authorizing then re-authorizing doesn't work, try updating to the latest version of Quicktime.

Apple has changed the Quicktime version of movies on their site and upgraded (for macs) iTunes.... Nothing will work until you have the latest software.

Hope this is helpful to some of you out there.

Just like everyone else, I to have had the same problems getting the Audio and Video content to play from my Digital downloads. Definitely check for Software updates first and make sure you are using the current version of iTunes. iTunes 9.0.2 is what my computer just updated to. One more tip that made it work for me is this. I tried the Deauthorize and then Authorize trick with no results just like many others have. After a couple times trying different things I finally got it to work by doing the following.

1. Go to the left hand iTunes library menu and click on Movies. This shows all your downloaded movies in the main screen.

2. Go up to the main top Bar Menu and click Store, then scroll down and click on Deauthorize Computer. It will ask for your iTunes ID and Password, enter them and it should tell you your computer has successfully been Deauthorized.

3. Step 3 here is what made all the difference for my computer. Now that you have Deauthorized your computer, CLOSE iTunes. Once iTunes has successfully closed, you can now go and open it back up.

4. Once iTunes has launched and reopened, click on Movies again under Library.

5. Now go back up to Store in the top Menu Bar and Click Authorize computer. Enter your iTunes ID and password. You should get the message your computer has been successfully Authorized.

6. Open your movie and it should play.

Closing iTunes after Deauthorizing the computer and then reopening it followed by Authorizing the computer again was the final trick that worked for me. I can only hope this final step allows everyone to finally view their Digital movie copies.

Best of luck to everyone.

SO....
I downloaded my digital copy of Public Enemies. It played on my iTunes but I couldn't hear or see anything except a gray screen. I did what others have done updated my quick time, de-authorized and re-authorized my computer and then finally i got a picture, but there was still no sound. So what i did was....

...I went to Audio & Subtitles under the Controls menu and clicked on English Surround Audio.
...then i closed my iTunes and re-opened it again
...i played the movie, still no sound, so i went back onto Audio and Subtitles and clicked on English stereo audio
....IT WORKED!!!!

TRY IT...IT WORKED FOR ME!!! GOOD LUCK!!

LeadAvalos10....... You sir are a genius!!! THANK YOU, I to tried the quicktime thing and the advanced deauthorize thing and neither of them worked. In fact (and this may be due to vista) When I went through Advanced/deauthorize It wouldn't even let me. saying something to the tune of "Your password or user name is incorrect" which was total BS because I had just changed my password because it made me doubt myself after the first 10 tries.. Any way It worked like a charm and The Dark Knight works now... FYI: The digital copy password was expired by a month and it still worked...
