Delegate calendars won't sync with iPhone

In gmail I have 5 calendars so as to color "categorize" my appointments: Uncategorized, Work, Play, Appointments, Misc

In iCal I could setup the Uncategorized calendar, and had to set the other 4 as "delegate" calendars. They seem to show up fine in iCal this way.

But, when I sync with my iPhone I can only sync the main "Uncategorized" calendar. I cannot sync any of the delgate calendars.

Any idea how to do this? Is there a better way to "categorize" appointments?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.7), NA

I don't know if this is a new feature or not, but I believe I found an easy solution to this problem. I tried the following and it worked like a charm ... no extra futzing needed.

By default only your primary calendar will be synced to your device. You can sync additional calendars by visiting one of the following pages from any browser (via desktop or mobile device):

For non-Google Apps users: https://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect
For Google Apps users: https://www.google.com/calendar/hosted/YOUR DOMAIN NAME/iphoneselect
Select the calendars you'd like to sync, and click Save. The selected calendars will display on your device at the time of the next sync.

hi guys i know this is rather outdated, but i've managed to create multiple accounts on ical (10.6.2) with 1 gmail login for multiple calendars.

1. Goto Preferences > Accounts
2. Click on +
<ADD AN ACCOUNT>
3. Select CalDAV,
fill in username and password.
Server address - "https://www.google.com/"
4. **IMPT PART! Hold ALT key to change 'create' button to 'continue', forcing manual options
<CALENDAR SERVER OPTIONS>
5. Account Template: None
Username : [USERNAME]@gmail.com
Password :
Server Address: https://www.google.com/
Server path: /calendar/dav/[CALENDAR ID]/user/, where [CALENDAR ID] is the ical version of Calendar Address available on the Google Calendar webbie > Settings > [CALENDAR OF CHOICE]
Port : [BLANK]
USE SSL : YES
USE KERBEROS: NO
6. Create!

Kudos to all those who've gone before us on this quest for multiple google calendars on ical.

Happy New Year!

I'm trying to replicate your directions. However, iCal is giving me problems with my server path.

All I'm entering in for my calendar ID is everything that follows "Calendar ID:" under "Calendar Address" on Google Calendar. So, for example, my server path line would be:

/calendar/dav/(some string of characters)@group.calendar.google.com/user/

iCal then can't seem to sync with it properly and yields:

"The request for account “Google: (insert the calendar name)” failed.

The server responded with
“HTTP/1.1 500 Server error code: cf2cc79d”
to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation."

Did I do something wrong?

OK, so I got everything working properly. Main reason I wanted to sync through iCal instead of Google is b/c I can't get the calendar colors to sync correctly through Google.I just want to make SURE that I am correct when I say that it's impossible to add events to calendars synced this way on the iPod Touch or iPhone. If I try to add an event on the iPod Touch, it creates a new default Calendar and doesn't let me add to one of the synced calendars. Thinking about switching back to Google sync because of this...

Yep, through the method above I've managed to sync all my calendars and delegate calendars across to my SE W995 through the Feisar plugin. The only slight problem is that any events I create on the phone are added to my Mac calendar rather than one of my google ones, under the option to "Put events created on phone into", all the others are greyed out. I just have to copy events manually into the right calendar when I sync which isn't too much trouble.

I used the post from mdr929 to show my delegates on the iPhone. I have my kids high school calendar and each sport shows up as a delegate. I just change which one(s) are displayed as sports change.
Easy to do and can be done from iPhone or computer, I just go to this address:
https://www.google.com/calendar/iphoneselect

copy/paste from mdr929 on Nov 09:
