Adobe PDF 9.0 printer no longer working after OS X 10.5.7 update

I'm not having any problems with Adobe 9.0 printing PDF's and 10.5.7. My log looks about the same as yours but is followed by a save. You could check the Adobe forums, because I don't think it is a problem with 10.5.7.

It's entirely possible that the problem isn't isolated... My wife lost her (Lexmark z2300) USB printer after the 10.5.7 update. The printer remained, however the PPD was no longer recognized. It wasn't even a simple matter to point it back to the PPD; it was necessary for me to reinstall the entire driver package.

Something up with that update with regards to Printers, which is what brought me here today; to determine if others were having issues.

Yes, I count myself among those having printing problems. Since updating to 10.5.7, I cannot print properly from PDFs (either through Acrobat or Preview) or my Web browsers (either Safari or Firefox). I've had to use a workaround that worked sufficiently for me (take a screenshot of the page, print that screenshot). Maybe that'll work, too, for some folks, if that's all you really need.

I tried to print out some Google Map directions last night and the only thing that would print out were the headers. If I turned off the headers/footers in the print options, I could get the top 1/4 of the Google logo and any text next to it to print. It's just bailing out early for some reason. And when it's printing multiple pages, it does the same: prints 3 pages of nothing but the header (or top 1/4 inch, if they're turned off).

One thing I was noticing is that the Web page that I tried to print out a few minutes ago was listed in my Epson log (printing to an Epson Stylus Photo 1280) as "File of type application/pdf" -- is that correct?

Anyway, it doesn't seem to be a "not recognizing the printer" sort of thing (it's there in the list -- I've even removed it and added it back again w/ no problems), but it just won't finish the job.

TextEdit, however, seems to work properly, as does Preview when printing a standard PNG screenshot. I just did a quick test with them to isolate the problem a bit more.

I may try reapplying 10.5.7 through the update on Apple's site before long (I originally updated through Software Update), per some other suggestions I've found, but I'm not in any dire straits at the moment. I have a sneaky suspicion it's just a bad update install on my end.

Trying the download version could work. I was going to update with software update but kept getting errors so I went with the download version. I also just tried with the built in save as PDF and my HP printer and all worked perfectly. Looks like I got lucky with this one.
