If you don't plan to upgrade them, I strongly suggest that you use iTunes to burn them to audio CD, so that you have a backup that can be used like any regular audio CD.
Recently I've gotten myself a psp(playstation portable) which not only plays games but allows you to put stuff on it such as images, videos, and music(Alot like a gameboy and ipod put together) and I tried to put my music from itunes on it but almost none of them showed up on my psp. After doing a lot of searching I found out it's because the music files are protected, in short my question is "Is there any way to play my music from itunes on my psp, or un-protect the files to make them work on it?"

Those "protected" files that were sold in the iTunes Store are only usable in Apple products. They will not work in a PSP. And the protection cannot be legally removed, although for a small fee you can get them upgraded at the iTunes Store.

Thanks alot, I'm not sure if theres an itunes store near me though, I got mine from a walmart. Also i'm not sure if I have a cd burner, how can I tell if I do?
Just to clarify: I was not referring to upgrading the PSP! I was referring to upgrading the old "protected" tracks into unprotected iTunes Plus tracks, which can be done for 30 cents each online at the iTunes Store, which I assume is the same place you downloaded the tracks when you first bought them.
For the CD burner, look on the computer where your iTunes library is stored.

oh, wow! so if I upgrade my music I can play it on my psp? I would love that so much....one of my friends suggested limewire, but I buy my music for a reason, ya know?
If you upgrade you will have un-protected AAC files which can be used natively in players than handle AAC, or can be converted (with iTunes) to the universally accepted format: MP3.
