finder windows won't come to front

I am having the same problem, and traced it back to my use of "Spaces". As soon as I assign the Finder the "Every Space", its windows are not coming forward when switching to it (with Command-Tab or the Dock).

Assigning the Finder to a single Space, or removing it entirely from the Spaces preferences "solved" the problem for me. Of course a solution which would allow me to bring Finder windows forward, while still using them in all Spaces would be preferable... Any ideas?

I've got this same problem. If I have a Finder window previously opened, but I am working in a different application, I then click on the Finder icon in the dock and the previously opened Finder window does not come to the front. I then have to click the icon in the dock a second time for the open Finder window to come to the front.

What window do you mean? When you click on an app icon, the app should run and be the top window. Is that not happening?
Or do you mean a desktop window?
