My sister is driving me batty!

I'm trying to help my sister decide on which iMac to purchase. Originally, she was looking at the new 24", 2.66 iMac with 9400M graphics card. Since her kids like to play a few games and she does a little graphics work using Photoshop and Illustrator, I recommended she purchase a previous generation 2.8 with 2600 Pro instead for less money.

For the last few weeks she's asked me, Apple reps, and Apple resellers dozens, if not hundreds of questions. Quite frankly, I'm surprised by the amount of misinformation she's been given, especially by people who said they were Apple experts. She was set to buy an iMac this week, when an Apple rep told her that if she goes with the 2.8, which has a maximum of 4GB of RAM, she won't be able to run the next generation of OS X. I'm pretty sure that statement is completely wrong for a variety of reasons, but I figured I throw it out to the real Apple experts on this site for an answer.

What say ye Apple folk?

Mac Pro 2.8, MacBook Pro 2.4, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

well, you can tell her that the gpu from the previous generation of imac is a bit better than the 9400m 'cause it has a dedicated memory. the cpu is better, ram is a little slower but who can notice? well I definitely suggest a 2.8ghz imac maybe with an expansion of ram to 4 gb... but it dependes how she work in photoshop.

I read everywhere that Snow Leopard will work on every intel based mac.

Tell her that the real bargain is the 2.8ghz maybe with apple care so she can be covered by apple warranty for 3 years!
