Apple Tv - Vertical mounting

I work for a company specialized in A/V Entertainment Systems and Automation. We were asked from a customer to integrate some Apple TVs he supplied into our system. Following the installation he had some doubts wether the vertical mounting (since we installed them into existing media racks) would affect the device operation.

Is there any possible problem with the vertical orientation of the device, rather than horizontal?

The case is designed to dissipate heat which is why the top gets hot.

Mounting vertically may cause heat to rise to the uppermost edge causing undesired heating at that edge - this is theoretical but could led to component failure if the heat isn't distributed evenly, though I guess it all depends which components are where when vertically mounted and how sensitive they are to the heat.

The question has been asked before, but I think all we can say is that it wasn't designed to be mounted vertically - it may be fine, it may not.
