Using a Pen Tablet with MacBook

hi there,

I bought my MacBook 3 months back. Last week I was trying to use a Pen Tablet with it. As i am a designer I usually need to use Pen Tablet for image cleaning. The tablet works perfect on my iMac at office.
The problem is, the mouse works on the pen tablet, but not the pen. I have installed the mac drivers and everything. The product which I am using can be found here.. http://iball.co.in/Product.aspx?c=16 .. 8060U

Is there a way to make the pen work...?

HI and Welcome to Apple Discussions ...

Since the 10.5.7 update, users are finding issues with 3rd party software/hardware.

Try repairing disk permissions. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select FirstAid, then click: Repair Disk Permissions. Quit DU when it's finished and reboot.

Also, try a different USB port.

Are you using Bluetooth enabled devices by chance?

The manufacturer gave me the Mac OS Drivers and it works fine on iMac and MacG5. But in my MacBook only the mouse that comes with the MacBook works and the Pen only clicks... the cursor does not move when using Pen.

And yes I also tried that disk repair option, but that did not work.
I am guessing that MacBook does not support Pen Tablets. 😟

Hi

I am not familiar with the tablet you are trying to use so I can't comment specifically on that.

However I have a Wacom Bamboo tablet which works just fine with my white early 2008 MacBook. This is just a basic tablet for home use, not really any professional uses. I also works on my early 2008 iMac. Works exactly the same on both macs.

Don't know if this helps you that much, but it may help to confirm that tablets can be used with MacBooks.
