ATT U-verse and Extreme - Need help setting up!!

I have read a lot of the forums, but can't seem to find an answer for my particular situation. (Or maybe I don't know what I'm looking for.)

I hope that someone can help me.

Here is what I have:
ATT U-Verse 2Wire Gateway Modem/Router
AEBS
Canon Printer
External Harddrive
PowerBook G4
iBook G4

Here is what I need, and the problem I need to solve:

ATT U-verse modem/router is hooked up and working great - wireless and everything, but there is no room there (physically) to put my printer and external harddrive.
Is there a way to hook up my printer and external harddrive to my AEBS without connecting any wires to the U-verse modem/router?
If it won't work with the AEBS, what will it work with?

I'm trying to use our printer and harddrive wirelessly for our laptops, and like I said, I can't put it where they put the u-verse. There is no room for it, physically in the apartment.

I hope this makes sense and that someone can help me out.

Thanks a bunch!!
Evan

Evan, I've connected by Uverse Gateway with an ethernet cable to my "new" AEBS and it's working fine. Apparently you need a physical connection to the Internet WAN port on the AEBS, then everything else should work wirelessly ⚠. However, I had to connect my HP 8500 through USB port of AEBS to print, although my laptop and another AirPort enabled desktop work wirelessly. But they are working through the Uverse Gateway wireless because I can't get the AirPort Utility to "find" my AEBS. Weird! I've tried manual configuration, but my AirPort ID (from the AEBS) is not accepted. Weird #2
Good luck

No, the AirPort Extreme base station (AEBS) can not wirelessly connect to the U-Verse router as a wireless client. You would need to connect it via Ethernet to that router.

You could configure an AirPort Express (AX) to connect wirelessly as a client and attach your USB printer. However the AX would not support the USB hard drive.

What you can do is plug a cat5 wire into the att u-verse router, run the other end of the cat5 to the wan port of the AEBS, place the base station in the DMZ, make sure share IP address is selected on the AEBS. Now you can plug your printer into the AEBS for wireless services.

Doing this way will allow your AEBS to control your LAN and give out IP address.

Okay so if you connect the AEBS to the RG and set the AEBS to bridge mode... The RG will supply all IP address to your network... but the RG doesn't support the Back To Mac (UPnP).. which means the only way to get BTM to work is setup the AEBS in the DMZ, and to share IP address, turn on DCHP/NAT to give you a different IP address for your LAN
