Air Sharing

Hi,
I have just downloaded airsharing and am trying to map a new drive so that i can send files to the iphone from my pc. Do I need to be on wi-fi for this to take place?
i can;t seem to find the right IP address

If you are using the classic Air Sharing, you'll need to use Wi-Fi, either by connecting the computer and the iPhone to the same Wi-Fi network, or by creating an ad hoc network from your computer and connecting the iPhone to that. If you are on Air Sharing Pro, an alternative method is to copy files from your computer to an iDisk or other WebDAV server, and then connect Air Sharing Pro to that server, which does not require Wi-Fi (as it works over a cell network like Edge or 3G as well).
