Brother "control center" insists on appearing on startup

No matter how often I go into system preferences and take my Brother DCP-7020 all-in-one out of the startup list, it returns, annoyingly. (What appears when I boot up is a window that says "ControlCenter 2" and offers options to scan to images, ocr, etc.) I rarely use this Control Center and would like it to stay put in Applications (or wherever it resides) until called upon -- how do I do this?

If it shows in the top icon tray open it and see if there is a start at login that you can uncheck

If it is in the dock click and hold until the menu comes up and uncheck start at login if it is checked

Or Look in the finder at "your harddrive" ==> library ==> startup items and remove it from there if it is there (I keep a removed start up items folder to move things to in case I want them later
