keyboard layout in canada

keyboard layout in canada

on the canadian apple store there are English and French Canadian keyboard layouts as options.
is the English layout an US English layout (that has rectangular shaped return key) or English International (the one with upside down L shaped return key)?

btw. going to the local apple store is not an option for me, so any help here would be appreciated

As a Canadian Apple customer, I can confirm that the Canadian English layout is identical to the US English layout. In fact, I think they are one and the same thing. The return key is rectangular. What you see in the Apple.com pictures is what you get.

I can confirm that the Canadian and the US keyboards are identical too. I had mine in a US Apple Store next to the US "versions", and I had found no differences.

well, too bad that it's the us layout, i was kind of hoping that it's the international.
perhaps i could get the french and replace it with the international, but that ruins the purpose of online store in which i can personalize everything, since the option that i want (and which isn't that unusual) is unavailable.

Just out of curiosity, what is it that you like about the International layout? I don't recommend the french keyboard unless you are french yourself and will be typing in french the majority of the time.

i'm from croatia and here most of the keyboards are based on the international layout (with upside down L shaped return, smaller left shift etc.) and for the past 16 years i've been typing on that sort of keyboards so it's all muscle memory i guess 😀

Ah, I see! Yes, I couldn't imagine changing keyboard layouts either. Sorry that there isn't really an option for the international keyboard. Perhaps you could call Apple to place your order and inquire about that over the phone. They may be able to accommodate you!
