you can't just load a garageband project into ableton if that's what you mean. you can certainly transfer all the sound samples ect but anything with midi instruments won't convert as the sound generators won't be available in ableton.
an obvious point but worth mentioning: you can render your garageband track into mp3/wav format and transfer that directly into ableton.
as for rewire, you can have garageband as master but not slave. this means you can have you ableton work superimposed onto your garageband work but you won't have to proper control. just launch garageband first then ableton to kickstart the rewire.
