Convert PAL to NTSC

Hi,

I have a video from church that is in PAL SD format and need to copy it and sent it to America and need to convert it to NTSC format.

Can anyone let me know how to do it please either using DVD Studio Pro or Compressor.

Thanks

Never used Movie Converter so have no point of reference.

I wouldn't use the MPEGStreamclip method normally but if all you have is the PAL DVD and no original captures to convert it's a good down and dirty method and the conversion isn't all that bad - I even doen it the other way from NTSC to PAL. Obviously tends to be not as good - but in a pinch and for NO investment it works

Under normal circumstances we usually have a 10 bit capture and then use a method in Compressor to do the standards convert which works extremely well - most of our stuff comes in as NTSC and we have to convert to PAL. We then use the Cinemacraft plug in in Compressor to do the actual encoding. But it helps if you have a good master source.

Obviously creating a Quicktime from a VOB of a DVD is taking a highly compressed source as your original so it's a trade off between cost, time and quality. I got the impression the original poster didn't have mega bucks to throw at the problem...
