Iphone in Dominican Republic
Anyone been to the Dominican Republic with their iphone? Does the phone work there?

well its expensive to use as a phone but could i use 3g data? if the hotel has wi-fi that would be good.

Yes, if you wanted to pay outrageous data roaming charges.
Roaming internationally for data can be much more expensive than phone calls.
Data roaming is off by default with the iPhone, and AT&T has some data roaming packages available.
With the iPhone, you can enable Airplane mode followed by turning on wi-fi access. This will disable all iPhone radios except for wi-fi access. You won't be able to place or receive any calls, SMS, or access the internet via the cellular network, but you will have access to the internet via wi-fi.

Thanks Ill check with the hotel to see if they have wifi. To be honest, Im going on vacation to relax not to sit on a beach with my phone. I might just leave the phone at home.
