I've had itunes on my computer for years, keep the software updated, and even bought some music last night. Now when I try to purchase music, it asks for my password, then tells me that it is unable to completely my itunes store request because an error occurred (8001).
I am having a similar issue from both itunes 8.2 on an imac running 10.5.7, as well as from my iphone.
I can access the store and preview music, but when I try to log into my account, It gives me this 8001 error, and on the iphone it tells me an error happened and to log in from a computer.
I had the same thing happen to me last night. Both my PC and my ipod cannot purchase anything on itunes. I tried logging out and now i cant log back in.
I am having the same issue too. I tried to rent a movie, and it began downloading, but when I try to play it, it gave me error 5103. Then I logged out and tried to log back in, and that's when it gave me the error 8001. I was trying to watch the rental on my brother's authorized computer, but now I can't log into my account on his computer or mine.
i also got the same problem that it dun let me log in my iphone even my computer, i did tried that problem few weeks ago wif my iphone, but i can log in b4 i updated the itunes8.2. Whats happened abt this. I think the itunes got some problems in this version.
Just tried selecting sign off in the account login dialogue box, your account name is removed from the account box on the main itunes window, shows sign in, then click on this and re-enter your name and password, now logged in again..
Okay, it must have been a glitch. Because after seeing all of the replies of people having the same issue, I JUST tried it again, logged me in, and it worked!
I also had this error.
It ***** but in can easily be fixed.
On ITunes under settings there's a sign out option.
Just sign out and sign back in
Problem Solved
