ViewSonic VX2435wm Display very blurry

I tried hooking up the Viewsonic display as a 2nd on my MBP, and no matter what i do it looks terrible. Text is fuzzy, nothing is very sharp. I've had this monitor hooked up to my work PeeCee for some time, and while it's nothing very special in terms of quality, it's never looked this bad. I mean it's almost unusable, especially when I glance back at my nice, crisp MBP display...

I've tried everything I can think of from the on board monitor settings to trying every resolution available, trashing display prefs, etc.

Am I just screwed with this combo?

It's VGA. And I've tried different resolutions, including 1920 x 1200, and no luck.

It looks fine when hooked up to the PC...

The monitor does not have DVI, but it does have HDMI and I just realized that there are DVI to HDMI cables...I think I will give this a shot and see what happens.

It's just strange that the PC does fine with the VGA connection...

There is a "tuning" function on monitors running from a VGA interface. Sometimes there is a front panel button labeled AUTO that is meant to be used to tune the clock recovery circuit inside the monitor to optimize the image on the screen. I would check for that and try it. You may have to look at the monitor's user guide for specific instructions on how to run the tuning function or auto adjustment function.
