yahoo mail - authentication failed?

I have had bt yahoo mail set up on my iphone for ages but today all of a sudden its not working, I've tried deleting it and putting it back in again but it just says authentication failed.

Anyone know how to correct this? or heard of it before? its really weird and annoying.

Well I am glad that everyone else in the world seems to be working for yahoo but for me here in the states I can not get my daughters Iphone to get authenticated for yahoo mail. It is really getting frustrating. I have changed the password to something really simple. No special characters or anything and still can't seem to get it authenticated. first I was getting the imap issue and now just the authentication issue. If yahoo sees this I hope they realize that something still isn't right with them. think I might move her to Gmail. I NEVER have issues over there

I have the 3G iPhone and the 2nd gen iPod Touch. The same exact account on the same exact WIFI network will not authenticate on the Touch, but works fine on my iPhone. This really *****! Is there anyone who knows how to fix this? I have updated firmware to 3.0 on both, and nothing works.

The iphone mail likes passwords with alphanumeric characters. Make sure you have no other characters but letters and numbers in your password. This restored my yahoo mail on my iphone after it refused to accept a password with a non alphanumeric character.
