Have tried all fix suggestions listed in the forums refering to this problem (dating back to 2007) and none have worked
Mine stopped at 10:17 this morning (6th June 2009)

Mine is doing the same and it's driving me crazy!

I have 4 seperate yahoo accounts. Two are related to businesses, one is with my full time job, one is personal.

NONE are up and running on my iphone.

My wifes is fine. But I cannot access her account on mine. So there is deffinately a connection with the handset somewhere.

I have spent over a hour on the phone to Apple who are mistified.

Been googling it all afternoon and no firm solution.

So....

I don't know.

All I can say is it better be sorted soon!

Ive tried most ofthe fixes you find on the net and suggested by Apple and none of them work.

I've emailed Yahoo....nothing back.

Grrrr....these monkeys are losing me money!

Are you also accessing the 4 accounts with an email client on your computer such as with Outlook or with Outlook Express and if so, are the accounts up and running without any problems with the email client on your computer?

mY YAHOO MAIL STOPPED WORKING THIS MORNING ASWELL, I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO INPUT TO INFO ANGIN AND IT WONT HAVE ANY OF IT, IM GLAD IM NOT ONLY ONE IN A WAY.

Fix your caps lock key first or turn it off, followed by contacting Yahoo technical support.

It's a UK wide problem as of June 6th.
Me too, 3 seperate Yahoo accounts failing on iphone and all showing 8 dots in stored password when in fact none of them are.. even when you try and reinstall them it defaults to an 8 digit string.. doesn't even help if you actually change your Yahoo password to 8 digits to match.

The yanks were complaining of a similar problem all over the internet forums as far back as Dec 07.
So it seems like this problem has just hit the UK servers... Or O2?
Anyone have the same problem on a hacked/cracked phone using a different service provider?

i'm going to tough it out and just manually check for mail using the browser periodically.
But if the US experience is anything to go by I'd back up important emails out of your inbox into a custom new folder.

Same problem. Two iphones in the family. One connects to yahoo and the other doesn't. Crazy!

And Stephanie.. are you experiencing the same problem as of today? And is your password now showing 8 indecipherable dots?

Yep. It started this morning and yep pw shows only 8 digits although mine is 9 digits long. O am on iPhone software 2.2 (5g77) unlocked. I still believe it's a yahoo server issue as it worked fine yesterday and I kept the phone on all night and this morning I couldn't pickup email. I don't think it's a handset error as all other accounts like gmail IMAP work fine.

It's not only UK, it's the same in France. I've got a Iphone working with the French Orange and a French Yahoo account and it's not working. I've sent a message to Yahoo tech team but still no answer. Tryed erase my account, reinstall the settings of the phone but nothing. Didn't notice a problem with the password digit though.

Hi, we have 2 iPhone's in the house, my yahoo! account seems to be fine, but my fiancé's is displaying this error, her yahoo! won't work on mine but mine works on her iPhone, which leads me to conclude it must be a yahoo! issue.. Someone previously said yahoo! had said you need yahoo! mail plus, I think this is NOT the case unless you have used all your server space up...
I only have standard yahoo! & mine is (touch wood, lol) working fine!
Hopefully just a server hiccup, sure it's nothing to do with it being 6/6/9 ( 9's an upside down 6 you know! lol )
BTW; any idea's when O.S 3.0 is due? Enquiring minds wish to know!

I have just disovered that on June 3rd Yahoo Inc have released a 'Yahoo' app for iphone. It's had crap reviews. It's meant to be an app that encompases email for all accounts, gmail, aol, homail etc, all messengers and social networking sites to keep you updated all day.

I have a sneaky suspicion this June 6 bug is not a coincidence.
I suspect Yahoo have F**ked something up bigstyle and it may get resolved if we just hang tight and don't change too much.
