My yahoo account doesn't work any more !!! error imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com

Precisely the same problem arose on 6 June for me. Deleting the account and setting it up again has not worked for me either. Looks a widespread issue judging from these posts.

Very more than likely this is a Yahoo problem which only Yahoo can resolve. Contact Yahoo technical support, but I'm sure they are well aware of it by now. If a free Yahoo account, as the old saying goes you usually get what you pay for, but all email account providers have problems from time to time.

I'm having this problem to , i'm from Romania. Maybe yahoo is updating the servers for push hotifications on software 3.0 . That may be possible too.

I've had my iPhone 3G for about seven months now and I haven't experienced a single problem with sending or receiving e-mail on it...until yesterday, June 6th.

I have two Yahoo accounts on my iPhone, and both seemed to be working fine yesterday morning and early afternoon. However, when I came to check my e-mail at about 16:30/17:00 (GMT) it just wasn't happening.

I tried resetting my iPhone, but that didn't sort the problem. So I deleted both my Yahoo accounts on the phone and tried setting up the accounts again. However, when I inputted the information and pressed save to verify the account, I was presented with the error message:

*Cannot Get Mail*
*The user name or password for "imap.apple.mail.yahoo.com" is incorrect.*

I've had these e-mail accounts for years, so I know the information I inputted was correct. And to confirm that I wasn't going mad, I inputted the details again several times and VERY carefully. However, I still got the same error message every time.

The TwitterFon and Facebook apps were still updating on my iPhone, so the Internet connection seemed to be OK. With this in mind, I tried adding my GoogleMail account (which wasn't on my iPhone) to see if that would work...and it did! I've never been so happy to see an e-mail account verified!

Judging by everyone else's experience with this problem, I'm sort of happy that it seems to be a Yahoo thing and not a "my iPhone is fu*ked" thing. Still, as my Yahoo account is my primary e-mail account, I hope they can get this annoying problem sorted soon.

Here's a quick thought.

If this is affecting the UK (& some of Europe) can I ask are your email accounts native Yahoo addresses ie @yahoo.co.uk etc.. Or are they @yahoo.com

All three of mine are @yahoo.com

Just wondering if everyone is the same as me and perhaps that is the main reason.. Is anyone with an @yahoo.co.uk being affected?

I'm from Belgium and I have an Italian account (yahoo.it) which is affected too.

I'm having the same problem and I have a yahoo.co.uk account with 8 letters in my password.

I can access my email if I go through the internet way.

Wish they would hurry up and get this sorted.
