It's past your 30 days. Like with any equipment, you have 30 days. Technically, they're extending it by one more week, to help, but those are the rules. Someone made an example earlier about buying a TV, it's the exact same thing. Those 30 days are called Buyers Remorse, you decided not to exchange it, so sorry. I know it's upsetting, because I can't upgrade either, but those are the policies and they are not required to make exceptiosn.

This is ridiculous. I spent 600 dollars two days after the original iphone cam out, and then another 300 last summer after spending the night in front of the ATT store. After finding that once you are an iphone owner and buy the newest model you will not be punished come next summer, however ATT has decided to slap every one of its customers in the face. Good luck to Apple and ATT having the worst quarter of iphone sales in over two years.

This has nothing to do with how much equipment you have purchased from Apple or your brand loyalty. You have purchased Apple equipment for other reasons which have nothing to do with cell phone subsidies.

The same applies to EVERY cellular provider in regards to subsidized phones.

You purchase a new phone from Verizon or whichever cellular provider and the phone you purchased is subsidized by the cellular provider, which requires a two year contract for the subsidy you were provided for your chosen phone. Within a year, a new cell phone or a new model of the phone you are currently using is released by the manufacturer. If you want the new phone or new model of the phone you are using, you will not qualify for the subsidized or discounted price for the phone at that time. You must fulfill your existing contract requirement for the subsidy or discount you received with your existing phone before you are eligible to purchase a new phone at the subsidized or discounted price.

The iPhone being subsidized by AT&T is no different in this regard.

Not being able to upgrade from the 3G to the 3G S is the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

I purchased an iphone 3g the day it was released. I asked at&t today when I would be eligible and they said December...at that point I might as well wait for the 4th gen iphone later that spring. Two friends of mine who have 3G's asked as well with the same response.

They will have to change this policy seeing as how most of the potential buyers of the 3G S are 3G owners now.

"I bought the phone on May 4th. Join the "I AM SCREWED AS A LOYAL IPHONE USER". I have bought $20K of equipment from Apple in the past 4 years. Brand loyalty does not matter for much."

I'm not sure what you are whining about. You bought a phone, and it works just as specified. Apple introduced a new phone, and you think you deserve to get a new one for free. Oh my.
