Color fades when scrolling in Safari 4

Ok, being admin or not does not matter. I tried the above using another non-admin account and the results are the same. If the other account has Safari open when I switch back, this Safari is borked. I only need to quit Safari in the other account to fix my normal Safari. I do not need to log the other user out.

Argh, after the last post, Safari started it again. Restarting Safari seems to have taken care of it.

This is annoying.

Safari 4.0.3 seems to correct the issue for me! Note this in the release notes:

Fixes an issue that could cause web content to be displayed in greyscale instead of color

I can confirm that this patch is working for me as well.

I haven't updated my laptop yet (I had issues with updating Safari to 4.0.3 and Mac OS to 10.5.8 on two computers, so I wanted to wait), but just for the records, here is the problem in action:

This worked for me.

Same problem as others:

• Only on external monitor
• Fixed by dragging window to main monitor and scrolling
• Only Safari shows behavior

Just started for me this morning, even though I've been using this setup for a week.

Have now upgraded to Safari 4.0.3 (was on 4.0.2). We'll see what happens.

Using 4.0.3, I cannot get it to reproduce. That may have done the trick. 🙂

See, Apple was paying attention, just they never gave any confirmation via the forums here..

Everyone needs to report issues like this thru http://bugreport.apple.com. These discussion may or may not be monitored by Apple; but one this is for sure, the engineers responsible for fixing the issues won't be spending their day reading the forums. Filing a case thru the bug reporter is a sure-fire way to get the information to someone that can actually do something about it; the more cases opened about a particular issue will help get it fixed faster.

Are you sure that this is a service that is available to free ADC membership? Only my ADC log on does not work with the Bug Reporting tool but does get me access to the free ADC content.
