I heard through the grapevine that my ex boss was looking at my screen from his office today. Is this really possible without me having set up remote access, or being on Ichat?
Yes it's possible, and you're probably not going to find much help on here with regards to circumventing your company's IT policies. If the computer is owned by your company, they can do what they want, sorry to say.
The owner was too cheap to buy us a computer so I used mine. They never loaded any software on it, and it was a clean install etc. done by me. The company (5 people) really didn't need an IT policy, we used the computers for everyday work - no central server, though we were on a network of course.
I think he was only looking at the old email account I had with the company to which various online accounts would reply (Ebay). By clicking on the link in my email he could see my Ebay cover page, but not access my actual Ebay account. This is probably what my colleague saw on my ex-bosses computer, so I feel a little relieved and am in the process of changing all my reply email addresses.
Thanks for you help - I will sleep better now, even if I still feel intruded upon.
