iCal subscription calendar sync with iPhone

Your welcome Evan...glad you got that working.

The colors on the other hand...yeah that one I don't have an easy answer for since the phone doesn't seem to have options for that. It seems to just randomly pick some colors. I am going to kick a suggestion up through the feedback links and I would suggest others do too. Believe or not, the engineers do see those and want to hear the suggestions. Hopefully we might see that setting in a future update.

Hi, thanks for such a great detailed reply - it's been puzzling me for ages a to how I got Birthdays onto my iphone and it's all now sorted.
These are fantastic devices - I won't even start to begin thinking how the technical stuff works - but I for one am pleased that people have the technical knowledge and above all imagination to think of these things in the first place!

Basically, it seems we are still short of what I consider the goal when it comes to subscribed calendars. There's still no way to make subscribed calendars appear in the MobileMe Calendar web interface!!!

Why is that??? Seems like it would be easy to allow users to subscribed to a Calendar from the Web interface by entering the URL where it is published at.

We should not even have to do it on the Mac, the iPhone and the Web interface. Once you subcribe to a calendar, why would you NOT want to see it on one or more of these options?

When I apply the above technique for birthdays I get a message saying requires username and password - when i reply with .mac username and password i then get a message that says "could not subscribe to the calendar "Birthdays.ics" from "idisk.mac.com""

I can't imagine where to begin researching this.

i get the same error and can't subscribe to an ics file that's located on idisk. it asks for a password but can't seem to authenticate.

Has anyone addressed this? I have several shared ics (iCal) calendars that reside on a server. My desktop software edits events on them without a problem, but I can't seem to figure out how to do it from the iPhone. In fact, I can't seem to add an event to any subscribed calendar, period.
