OS 3.0 bluetooth question

Anyone hear anything from apple about the issue with the microphones and the majority of Bt devices yet?

Jabra BT 8010, with 32Gig 2G touch as well...I'll try updating the software again, but I was already running Symphony-1-40-0.dfu from Jabra's site and that's been out since 2007. Maybe they made updated without changing the name, but I get no mic, play/pause, advance features right now. Only A2DP.

Still no word eh?

What is the Gmail Talk dialer? I've not seen or been able to find that.

I did however do a factory reset on my jabra bt8010, re-paired it with my touch and was able to play pause. Halfway there. Still no track advancing, and seemingly no mic support, at least with the voice memo app.

Have any devs tested 3.1 bluetooth capability? Any changes or updates?

3.1 Bluetooth? Not 3.0? Or it's a new fix?

3.1 iphone firmware. I'm registered under a dev account but can't seem to install it to test myself.

Well, I guess I will chalk this up to being fool enough to hope that a big company would treat their customers with respect: I upgraded to the iPod Touch Gen 2, then paid $10 specifically for the Bluetooth headset tethering so I could use Skype when on WiFi networks: since there's no support for that, I've wasted about $250.

i don't think you can discuss os3.1 here under the terms of your developer's nda. please feel free to correct me if i am wrong. I would be surprised if developers would answer here for that.

the ten dollar upgrade of the os is worth it for a lot of reasons. You haven't wasted anything.
It has been publicly discussed here for a month that bluetooth microphone features are disabled on the 2gen touch.
But You can skype with apple's in-ear headphones. Or fring. Or other services.

I still use my high def bluetooth headphones for music and these sound great.
And i use the microphone when i skype from my mini.

Yeah, you've got me there. I was able to install the update after iTunes 8.2.1 upgrade. So questions are answered. I'm an overall fan of the 3.0 upgrade, but without AVRCP support and people's video cables becoming incompatible, It's definitely had it's frustrations. I'm really eager for developers to create dock accessories i.e. GPS, camera, etc, which is supposedly a large part of 3.0's new ability, but if apple keeps breaking existing product compatibility, who's going to build these products?

So I just want to make sure I understand properly...

In the future, I might be able to use my bluetooth headset's microphone for Voice Memos/Skype/etc on my iPod Touch 2G OS 3.0, if Apple includes more bluetooth profiles in an OS upgrade? Is that something that could possibly happen?

(I feel like the Voice Memos icon on the home page is taunting me!)

so I'm a bit confused. If my headset supports the A2DP profile, then it will successfully pair with my ipod touch, but I will only be able to use it for listening to audio and I will not be able to use the mic, correct?

Otherwise, if the profile is not supported by my headset, it will not work at all, correct?
