iPhone update error in the store

I was updating my iPhone with the 3.0 software and got this message.

"We could not complete your store request. An unknown error occured (-4)."

Now my phone wont work and is telling me to plug in to iTunes, but the store seems to not respond.

Anyone else having this issue?

Mac OS X (10.5.7)

I am getting the same problem right now. I too can connect to the itunes store when the phone is not connected. I was in the middle of doing the update when I got the error message. My phone is now unusable and tells me to connect to iTunes. Yeah, no luck.

What doesn't make sense is that I have my own iPhone and another for my Dad. My update worked just fine. When I went to update his I got the error message.

From reading posts from last year, it appears that this has to do with a server overload? So the options are to just keep trying and hope you get through sooner or later. Anyone else know any information?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I got the -9807 error a few days ago, I think after I downloaded ITunes 8.2. I can usually (but not always) access the ITunes Store, but I cannot purchase music at all. I connnected my IPhone and installed 3.0 on my IPhone and it wouldn't recognize ITunes and ITunes wouldn't allow my phone to sync or even activate. I tried reinstalling ITunes, restarting the computer, checking Keychain Access, etc. and now I can't even sign into ITunes from my computer. It opens, plays my library, but does not allow me to buy anything, sync my phone, or sign in.
I can sign in on the other computer.
Haven't tried turning off a network filter because I don't know if I have one or what it may be called. Is there one automatically found in Macs that is common other than Little Snitch?
My way out was to connect the phone to another Mac (OS 10.5--mine's a 10.4.11) and my phone at least is now updated and works fine. I just don't know how to fix the ability of my phone to connect to my computer.
Suggestions?
Thanks,
D
