o2 MMS settings

Hi

Apologies if this has already been posted / answered, but I have had a look and dont seem to be able to find the answer!

Upgraded to OS3.0 without any dramas, everything works fine except the MMS. Saw on here that I should text MMS to 1010 which I have done - 5 times!

Had nothing back from o2 so wondered if its just a case of manually changing the settings for Cellular Data Network?

Currently my APN is set to idata.o2.co.uk for Cellular Data, Visual Voicemail and MMS.

Does anyone know if this is all it is or is it a case of o2 pressing a button somewhere?

Thanks

Hi Alan

like you, I have sent the MMS text to 1010 many times with no response. I have been on the o2 website and it says that MMS will be available from 19 June (albeit, o2 say they will reply to the MMS text within 10 minutes(yesterday).)

As for changing settings, I am not doing anything but will wait and see what o2 come up with today. Failing this, I will contact them. If you hear anything to the contrary, post ok. Cheers. D

Hi. Just spoken to o2 customer support and they said that it will happen but apparently the process involves Apple recognising that you have updated via itunes, they then notify o2 electronically and then o2 automatically text an MMS to say everything is up and running.

Unfortunately, they didnt realise how many people would upgrade at the same time (DUH!) and hence things are a bit slow.....

Hi Alan.

A friend and I both down loaded the new software together at work last night at about 18:30 I got a text from o2 within about half an hour of the download confirming MMS was now working, as of writing this message this morning my friend has still not received his message despite texting "MMS" to 1010 a number of times.

I guess its o2 trying to catch up with such a high volume of upgrades that's caused the delay.

Regards

Just got this text from 1010 (02)

"Hello. We know you are waiting for MMS to be set up on your iPhone. We're sorry. We are working as fast as we can and you should be set up within a few hours"

Question is, if they know I am waiting then they have had the notification from Apple that I have upgraded to OS3.0, so if they know that, why cant they switch it on......

Updated via iTunes this morning and after the phone automatically restarted as part of the process had 2 texts straight away from o2, first saying MMS settings not configured and second within a few seconds saying MMS now configured.

Have tried sending and receiving to a Voda account and pics appear within messages fine on both accounts

I too sent the MMS message to 1010 many times last night with nothing received. My girlfriend sent me an MMS last night off her iPhone and i got the "You have a MMS" text from o2.

Still not received any notifications or anything from o2, but then this morning, one of my installers on site at a job sent me a picture message and it came through fine. So i guess, o2 don't necessarily have to or do send you any confirmations.
