MMS settings for uk 3 network, plus no mms icons within messages.

The MMS APP is built into the SMS APP. Press the SMS button and then you can create an MMS by adding files.

Theres a little camera at the bottom left corner in a circel

Two things:
1. You may have to restart your iPhone (switch off completely, then switch on again) before MMS functions are available. I had to do this.
2. You may have to enable MMS in Settings > Messages.

Firstly you have to add your mobile number in the settings area of the iphone.

However I too have a factory unlocked iphone and use the three network but no matter what mms settings i input it will not work on the iphone. Maybe the firmware doesnt recognise Three as a partnered UK carrier.

If any one else could shed more light on the matter that would be great...paid £600 for a phone i STILL cant even send mms on!!!

You have to set the right settings for 3 before you have the option of sending mms. Go to settings, general, network, +cellular data network+ and scroll down a bit.

I haven't been able to find the right settings that will allow me to actually send an mms. That said, I have PAYG and the settings might be completely different. Anyways, putting in these values will at least give you the little camera icon in messages:

APN: mms.three.co.uk
Username: <blank>
Password: <blank>
MMSC: http://mmsc.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
*MMS Proxy:* 217.171.129.2:8799
*MMS Max Message Size:* <blank>
*MMS UA Prof URL:* <blank>

The correct settings are (I have tested it and yes, it works):

Cellular Data
APN: three.co.uk

MMS
APN: three.co.uk

Help!
I have used the settings as detailed but my phone will not send the mms, It gets 90% of the way through the progress bar, then after about 60 secs give a message failure.
Any ideas as to what I need to do??

These are not correct; the following will work.

APN: three.co.uk
MMSC: http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc
MMS Proxy: 217.171.129.2:8799
MMS Max Message Size: 307200

Don't forget to reboot the phone after entering those, otherwise it won't work.

I must be doing something wrong, I can receive mms OK but cannot send It still gets 90% and then fails. I will try the sim card in a 3 phone to make sure it works OK.

OK, let me know. Have you checked all the settings in MMS? With all the numbers and / it can be quite easy to make a mistake as I did.

Tethering works brilliantly too.

well, I put my sim into a motorola phone and sent an mms, however it did take quite a while to send, longer than it takes the iphone to give an error message. I tried with another sim in the motorola and it was the same. I have checked all the settings and they look fine, could it simply be a timing problem caused by a poor (non-3g) signal. I have tried in a 3g area but it didn't work then either.
So any suggestions most gratefully received.
