I have try reset the phone already by holding the home and sleep button until the Apple logo comes up. I'm using USB, not try using adapter because I cant using it now.
I had the same problem, did a reset and it seems to be working fine now. What happened was, the phone just died on me, no message of low battery or anything. Next thing I know, it won't come back on. I plugged it into the wall outlet charger, did a reset and it appears to be working fine now.
Original iPhone, upgraded to iPhone os 3.0. It refuses to charge about 50% of the time.
Of note, I charge it at night in airplane mode and from a wall outlet. It seems to start to charge but stops shortly thereafter. The times when it has not charged it is hot to the touch. This is completely new behavior.
Same issue with my iPod touch 2g. I've tried resetting it, restarting the computer, trying other USB ports. All with no luck. I can plug it in to the wall adapter and it charges fine. However, this does me no good when I need to sync it. The computer doesn't even see the iPod anymore.
I have a iPhone 3G and updated to OS 3.0. Most of the time the phone will not charge either through the USB or the AC outlet. I was able to get it to charge once by reset it while plugged into the wall. I have tried doing a Restore and it did not help. I have noticed that the battery drains really quickly even when not being used and the battery gets hot. I have turned on WiFi, Bluetooth and anything else I could think of. Either the battery meter did not show the correct battery level or the iPhone is doing something that drains the battery quickly (from full battery to 20% in less than 2 hours)
Hi, I was having the same problem. I tried disabling push, seems to work for me. It makes the phone less hot and seems to let it charge as well. Hope this helps 🙂
Once I let my battery die completely then it charged now seems to be back to it's happy self. After I charged it I did a reset just for good measure.
I did see a recall for the USB adapter so anyone having a problem should be checking their adapter for the green dot..if it's not there you need a replacement. If it is there check to see if the adapter is getting hot...mine was. I got a new adapter and seems to be just fine now. Also be sure to use only a USB cable, because iPod cables are firewire & the iPhone isn't compatible with firewire. In some cases a cable for the iPod Touch maybe interchanged as long as it states iPhone compatible.
charges from wall only, not on usb
in 2 hours it says 10% left, then it gets REALLY HOT
and all kinds of weirdness begins
got a new warning; : iphone is too hot to use, please wait
i used to go as much as 2.5/3 days without charging
the following post had ideas regarding apps and push:
