GPS and Maps not working after 3.0 upgrade

I performed the 3.0 upgrade (sorry I did that)and now, the Maps programs and my GPS program constantly show the wrong "current location". Anyone else have this problem after the upgrade?

Thanks.

Same problem here in the UK
Very slow locating, bringing maps ups etc
My location leaves bouncing blue circle, doesn't zoom into street, currently spanning about 2 miles across on map.
Currently not giving me right location, usually about 1/2mile away, sometimes further.
Last night tried it at work, maps didn't zoom in, when it did, as i was driving the blue dot ran off the screen, maps did not scroll??
Still no landscape.

(been on apple site, others are having same problem. Searched on here, no mention of the issue. Their wondering if thats why tom tom not released yet)

grateful for your comments.

yes, I have the same issue - brand new out-of-the-box iPhone 3G s.
Maps shows me 3 miles from my true Location. try it again and it moves me further away!!

It appears to now be putting me at the location of my old workplace (yes we have moved buildings recently)but I dont have any work information on my phone.

If I then select the Find icon the directional view of the map puts me 400 meters away from my location then jumps back to my old work location.

Same issue here in sunny Switzerland. My GPS has always worked perfectly and given me very fast locks, even indoors.

Since upgrading to 3.0 it has been completely disabled. I get a triangulation lock (>800m radius), but no precise lock. I've tried multiple restores and have left it outside for >20 mins to find satellites and no joy.

At this stage I am not sure whether Apple will release a patch, or should I return my handset as faulty???

Chalk me up to the list of peeved people with seemingly broken GPS on an iPhone 3G...

Google maps application just shows a radius of about 5-800m, and if i open up motion-X it tells me that I have triangulation only, and just endlessly searches for satellites.

Fix this, and quick please! Otherwise I'll just have to take my phone in and get it replaced!

im gonna make this a long story. My buddy gave me a 3g phone cause he got a new 3gs. well he just got his 3g replaced 7 days earlier. He gave me a phone that was 7 days old. We updated it to 3.0 and went on my merry way. Well i got lost a couple days later so i went to pull up my location cause i was excited to have actual gps now and it didnt work, it was all sorts of off and i thought i just had a bad view of the sky. Well my buddy i was with had a 3g that still had 2.2.1 on it and his was working fine so i thought i did something wrong. I went home did a restore and set up as new phone and it was still messed up. So i called applecare and explained it to them. They set me up with an appointment at the apple store the other day. They swapped the recently swapped phone with another one and did an in store update to 3.0 and it got gps signal within a couple seconds. It was way faster than i've ever seen. The apple genius had a 3g running 3.0 and tested his and his worked just fine too. So its hard for me to confirm software or hardware at this point.
