Invalid Security Code - frustration !

Hello to you all Apple/Mac lovers 🙂,

I did see that someone had already posted about this earlier, only the topic was marked as solved so I'm making a new one.

Here's a little heads up for anyone who doesn't about this 😉 : when trying to add a credit card to the payment info on my iTunes store account, it says that I have to enter a valid security code - but the code I entered is already fully valid ! However many times I try I can't get it to work. Any clues, ideas, help ? Thanks a lot 🙂 !

I have the same problem, every time I want to buy something the system requests a confirmation, I put my security code, it passes ok and returns me to the app store, then again the same message to confirm, and it just goes on and on.

I deleted the credit card information and put it again and the same problem.

One stranche thing though if I purchase through iTunes it also asks for the confirmation but when I put the security code it recognizes it and works ok.

Very frustrating I musrt say and Apple shines for their silence....

The below is in relation to downloading apps on an iPhone but should apply to other purchases through the Apple store.

I've been struggling with the same problem, but I've just succeeded in linking my Visa Debit to my Apple account. I think the issue may have been that I was signed in on my computer as well as on my phone, so I signed out of all and then accessed my account only through my phone and it has worked.

Go to:

Settings

Store

View Account

(Enter Password)

Payment Information

(Enter card details and security code, etc.)

And it should work!

Or at least it did for me...

Good luck!

I have had this happen for the last 4 days now and i have plenty of money on my card and its fine cause ive used it elsewhere to get things but i have app updates i would like to get but cant because after entering the valid code it keeps kicking me out. Just updated to iOS5.x and still doing it. Apple whats up here? And how do we resolve this issue?

I didn't bother contacting Apple because it seemed like no one was getting anywhere going that route. I ended up linking my PayPal account as the payment method and all problems are solved. I hope this helps everyone else.

I had been using my debit card as iTunes payment since day one and have never had this problem before today. There was not an outstanding balance and my security code was accurate (can't count the number of times I tried and received the invalid security code message.) I attempted adding various other cards that all came back with the same error. PayPal worked immediately and it's linked to my debit card I'd already been using so I can't say there's much difference in the end; it works.

I have this problem for many days after I got new iPad, and I contacted Apple customer support, but they always point the problem to the bank. I don't think they really check it.

I used at least 4 credit cards, including AMEX, all got same issue. So, I called AMEX, and they told me that the translation they saw, really got wrong security code, which isn't the same as what I filled up :-(

The Apple system is unbelievable *****! Earn too much money, but don't know how to spend!
