Invalid Security Code - frustration !

Hello to you all Apple/Mac lovers 🙂,

I did see that someone had already posted about this earlier, only the topic was marked as solved so I'm making a new one.

Here's a little heads up for anyone who doesn't about this 😉 : when trying to add a credit card to the payment info on my iTunes store account, it says that I have to enter a valid security code - but the code I entered is already fully valid ! However many times I try I can't get it to work. Any clues, ideas, help ? Thanks a lot 🙂 !

The iOS 6 update said the credit card was "fraudulent" after using it. My family was so mad, we got a new card. Apple has to fix this. IIRC, you once had to enter your payment method everytime. Those were the good days. Now it doesn't even tell me if I payed for it. I thought it was an AppStore GiftCard glitch, where it gave me a boatload of money, but it

It's very sad to see so many people not getting any help. I have a perfectly working card. I've confirmed it with the card company. I've ordered things with it from other sites. I've confirmed the billing address matches exactly with the one in my profile. but still apple is not going to let me purchase anything. i've gone into itunes, app store, the profile info on my iphone, the info on my ipad, and from apple.com. i've read all the solutions i can find on line. ....for 3 days. goodbye apple

Just want to add something to this, making everyone aware that the problem still exists.

I've had my iPhone for about 2 years now and have been buying/downloading music and etc. using my existing card info. I had to change my card info, due to the expiry date, once and the phone had no problem with it.

Bought a Mac mini and then synced it up to my iPhone and that's when the problems started, they haven't gone away since. I've been using rival online music services for my music needs like www.bleep.com ones which can actually take visa card information correctly.

So far I've tried:
Re-entering all the information again by hand
Changing the address

Checking to see if the expiry date was incorrect

And nothing is working.

I'm going to go into an apple store and see if they know anything.

I too have been having this same problem, in my case with an AMEX card that worked just fine for severla years. Suddenly the iTunes sytem decided it did not like it. None of the card data has changed and there are no problems with the card. It certainly seems that there is some world class incompetence in the iTunes store systems team that has managed to badly bungle an ecommerce platform. It is amazing such stupidity is tolerated and that people receive paychecks for damaging Apple's revenue collections system. Absolutely shameful pathetic incomptence.

I have a possible solution to force Apple to deal with this problem. Wander into your Apple Store.. Buy one, two or three systems.. then have them set them up for you, right there in the store.. When the iTunes registration problem rears its head, insist on Apple refunding the purchses of a few moments ago. I suspect if this tactic is leveraged in several stores, the dolts in Cupertino will get the message. Speak with your dollars!

You know what? I have the same problem, and I don't know about you but I'm not going to jump through loops and hurdles just to give someone my money. So Apple wants me to use a credit card instead of my debit card, despite not bothering to tell me so? Well then, I don't pay them my hardearned cash. ****, I had to try to log onto this bloody support site three times for it to connect! If Apple wants me to bend over backwards to buy a movie, then they just lost $30 and a potential future customer.

This is why people pirate everything. Why should I feel guilty about not paying for a movie I want to watch when companies like Apple won't even make it easy to pay them for it?

This is what worked for me: (Had the same problem for weeks)

I kept getting the "Invalid Security Code" error, and it was frustrating me.

WELL...all I did was just enter "Mr." in the "TITLE" field (I would leave blank) and made sure all fields were filled in, and BOOM - Verification was successful and I was able to download my apps I wanted to buy.

Seem like some kind of glitch. When you leave the "Title" field blank, it's sending out the "Invalid Security Code" error.

It works fine for me now...I hope it helps most of you.

Good Day!

This is so frickin frustrating... Thanks Apple. Got a new Iphone 5 and because you have to pay nowadays for whatsapp (don't get me started) i need to give my credit card details. Security code wrong! But it is not. And then, I figured it out. In the Netherlands (i have no idea if this counts for all countries) we have a 4 digit security code in order to make purchases in stores. This is NOT the security code that Apple wants... Instead they want (for mastercard) the last 3 digits of the number in your signature area on the back of your card. This did the trick for me. 2 hours of frustration I'll never get back... Hope it helps!

Someone there in Apple needs to think about how to make the website, itunes etc a bit more user friendly. It's just awful for someone who isn't familiar with it. One small point WHY can't you make it clear that your Apple_ID is just your email address................?? Or even better, why not just call it your email address? Arghhhh............... Totally annoying. I've just spent a frustrating hour trying to get an ipod registered and buy some music to put onto it. It kept asking me for my apple_id, which I didn't know was my email addess so I would click on "don't know it" and then go through the whole process again, get a new password and then when I try to get into it again I'm asked for the Apple_ID. I can't be the only person to have come across this. I'm so angry now I can't even write!!!! I would love to know if anyone else feels the same?!
