Invalid Security Code - frustration !

Hello to you all Apple/Mac lovers 🙂,

I did see that someone had already posted about this earlier, only the topic was marked as solved so I'm making a new one.

Here's a little heads up for anyone who doesn't about this 😉 : when trying to add a credit card to the payment info on my iTunes store account, it says that I have to enter a valid security code - but the code I entered is already fully valid ! However many times I try I can't get it to work. Any clues, ideas, help ? Thanks a lot 🙂 !

Same problem here... My old Visa debit worked fine (for the past two years) but when I tried to update my iTunes account with my new-issue card it came back with "Your payment method was declined. Please enter valid payment method information". And the old card won't work either, even though it's not due to fully expire for another week.

I've tried this several times, both through iTunes and through the Apple website, but no joy. I know it's not the fault of my card or not having sufficient funds, as I made a card payment earlier today (and I got paid last week!). What a silly, annoying thing to get wrong... Come on Apple! I want to spend some moolah!

AGH this has been so frustrating for me as well! I had a Visa debit card that I had entered in my iTunes info for over a year, but after I lost my debit card, I had to order a new one. I tried to enter the new debit card info into my iPhone, but it came up with the "invalid security code" message. So I tried it on my computer... Same thing!

THIS WORKED FOR ME!!!--
I finally just started tweaking little things to try to get it to work. My payment info page had an option at the bottom of the page that said something to the effect of "Use this credit card to pay outstanding fee of: $1.07." Well, it turns out that iTunes is trying to charge you when you update your info. This box is automatically checked for you, so you would assume that that is there for a reason. I just unclicked that box, and my debit card all of a sudden worked!

I hope this might help some of you guys who are just as frusrated with this huge iTunes glitch as I was.

This worked for me.
iTunes is trying to charge you and update information at the same time.

1.Empty Card Number field first.
2.Click DONE near the bottom of the page.
3.Uncheck "Use this credit card to pay outstanding fee of: $xx.xx" near the bottom of the page.
4.Update credit card 16 characters and security code. Click DONE.

so i got a similar replay as wyatjo posted on page one of the thread, but when i checked my info on apple i found the problem, my name on my visa debit was Kenneth *** and when i got my ipod i put in kenny *** as my name and that is the name apple used for my billing info, and it stopped working once it realized my info was incorrect. hope this helps some of you. seems to be working now, apparently my name was the problem. Cheers 🙂 (and thanks to apple support for the help)

ok, sorry for bumping old topics.

But heres my situation....I've never been fond of Apple...never...but i thought hey I've never tried their product out lets give it a shot see how it is. Now i just aqcuired an iPhone from my brother, he did w.e erased data factory default w.e he did, to make it mine. I plug it in, go into itunes, cool stuff is working, i can toss some homebrew music on there syncs just fine. I want to get an app. So...i click on "store">"authorize computer", and surprisingly i find out i had signed up with apple.ca a looooong time ago and my account was still active. So it takes me to Review Account Information and i agree to terms, edit address info etc. comes the billing page. Enter my VISA CREDIT CARD, and says my security code is invalid. Ive never in my life used the apple store, this is my first time. I cant do anything with my iPhone except throw music on there...which is very dissappointing and really doesnt give me a good impression from apple seeing as how im already not fond of them lol....

I emailed customer support. But thought id hit this thread up and see if anyone has a solution for my case, being a brand new user with an account that is old and has never been accessed till today.
