Invalid Security Code - frustration !

Hello to you all Apple/Mac lovers 🙂,

I did see that someone had already posted about this earlier, only the topic was marked as solved so I'm making a new one.

Here's a little heads up for anyone who doesn't about this 😉 : when trying to add a credit card to the payment info on my iTunes store account, it says that I have to enter a valid security code - but the code I entered is already fully valid ! However many times I try I can't get it to work. Any clues, ideas, help ? Thanks a lot 🙂 !

okay i had the same problem so everyoneone with this problem LISTEN UP!!
now dont get mad if this doesnt work for you, i know there are down sides like having to keep track of new email and possibly losing purchased items but hey i figured the pros out weighed the cons

all i did was start a new email account and with that start a new itunes account, enter same credit card number and it worked(:

pleeez dont be mad at me if it doesnt work i know how it felt to try different things and then come up empty handed, just try it

I'm having the exact same problem.
i've tried 3-4 different cards and i've typed just about everything as my security code, including the correct one. I just don't understand how SOME people have gotten it to work, but the other percentage hasn't. oooh, i hope they get this problem resolved soon. i want to put apps on my new iphone 😟

I was actually thinking of buying a gift card today but I guess that didn't work out for you either. My credit card was on block because their system thought something fishy was going on when I added credit onto my rebtel. So I had them unblock my card but it still doesn't work. Now it tells me how my payment method was declined. Pretty bummed. I don't know what to do. I may create a new account all together but I have a feeling the same thing is going to happen.

Hey Gang !

I'm not too sure that last night's "upgrade' to iTunes 9.2.1 even had much to do with it,
but what I just found was it was beyond a question of it's not taking one's proper & correct security code from a Visa Debit card ( or such ) . . . I suddenly realized I was looking at the *wrong expiration date !!*
Perhaps the spacing on the card number was off also . . so I re-entered that w/out spaces . . put in, oh I dunno' . . . *the right expiration date ?!!?* . . and guess what ?
Cleared up the whole dang issue on my iMac and my iPhone !!

yay !

so have at it !

After many days of frustration, I finally was able to resolve this issue. I called Apple and because I have AppleCare, they were willing to help me with this problem. It took talking to several people, moving up the seniority ladder, until finally the problem was solved by the iTunes account people. They had to go in and manually reset my billing info. Problem solved. I suggested that they take a look at these forums because so many people are having this problem. So call 'em up, there is a fix. Don't give up hope.

I had this same problem, and it puzzled me for months, I tried everything.....
would you believe the simplest thing solved the problem.....I hope it works for anyone else having this problem so they don't lose as much hair over it as i did. Simply change your credit card to none....then go back to desired card type and if the info is still there....back it out....put it back in and when you get to security code.....this is the number on the back of the card unless it is an american express.....then you will find it on the front. Good luck

Hi, I'm a user from China.
I've met the same problem days ago when I tried to apply for a US iTunes store account by my newly-applied visa credit card.
It responded that the security number was invalid. And I gave up soon after minutes' trying.

Today, just now, I tried again in the US store and failed as well, then I changed the store location to China and surprisingly I succeeded!~

I guess there's maybe some restriction in the itunes store to forbid you from using a visa card from the country which isn't your itunes store location.

Changing ur itunes store to another country may work...

Hope apple could give out a official solution...
Good luck~
