Invalid Security Code - frustration !

Hello to you all Apple/Mac lovers 🙂,

I did see that someone had already posted about this earlier, only the topic was marked as solved so I'm making a new one.

Here's a little heads up for anyone who doesn't about this 😉 : when trying to add a credit card to the payment info on my iTunes store account, it says that I have to enter a valid security code - but the code I entered is already fully valid ! However many times I try I can't get it to work. Any clues, ideas, help ? Thanks a lot 🙂 !

I tried ALL of these things. Literally.

My bank account is nowhere near being a low balance. I tried unchecking the box. That worked...for like two seconds. Except I still can NOT buy anything. My husband and I both have always used our Visa debit cards on here. This has been like..what, two or three years, hassle free until NOW! He, of course, has never had the problem. The last time it was used was just this past Friday, two days ago. I was wondering if maybe Apple was blocking me, thinking I am a hacker of sorts. I have been purchasing a lot from them lately-songs, games, etc. Obviously, this is not the case (I don't think anyway). Does it have anything to do with the fact that it is Sunday? Perhaps since tomorrow is Monday, and I have an "outstanding balance", it will let me continue on, trouble free?

Any other suggestions, ideas? Obviously I refuse to carry on like this.

Thanks,
MK

I did just talk to one of the people working at apple and they said that if your card expired and it became active again the card will still not work because the iTunes system will not allow the card to be read my opinion, try using a different card or like she said just contact the card company and figure out what is going on

After calling Apple tech, I was told to do the following, which worked for me:

Go to Settings> Store> View Account> Payment Info and on the credit card type, tap on the type entered (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) and then scroll down on the menu and select none. Then click done at the top and now you can make free purchases including the iPhone 4 Case app, but when you're ready to spend money, you'll have to go back into the settings and enter all of your credit/debit card info again.

Apple claims that they listen to their customers in order to fix their problems but for some reason they have totally ignored the public on this major issue.....this is the only company I know of that will refuse to fix a problem which may be costing them hundreds of thousands of dollars a day. APPLE! WE CAN NOT SPEND MONEY ON YOU....YOU ARE STOPPING YOURSELF FROM GETTING MONEY....maybe they will hear this post and fix this issue with the security codes....instead of telling us to talk to our finacial institutions....what good does that do anyway? All that does is have them look at our accounts and say "yep your info is correct...and yes you have money to spend". Apple please get a stinking clue and FIX THIS. We are looking at over two years of ****** of posts on this site....are you guys even looking at any of these?

I have this issue too!!!! And the frustrating part is that NOTHING changed on my account. I have been using this card for over a year, and I had to log in because it said "another computer accessed your account, so please verify". It had me verify the security code, and now it's saying invalid.

A card that I have used numerous times.

I have been an Apple fan for 20 years, and lately I have been VERY disappointed with them.

Alright everybody I'm not sure who u were calling but I got on the apple site and complained and got a call within five minutes and the guy told me that it's no the security code that is invalid it's the address on ur account that has to match up perfectly with the address on ur card so say u live at 1111 n. 21st avenue and it shows up on ur credit or debit card as 1111 north 21st ave then u have to write it EXACTLY as it is wherever ur card is.....my problem was my address on iTunes was **** * dr. And I called and it was that drive was written out so I changed my address on iTunes to **** * drive and that was the whole problem now it is all solved. I hope this helps people out as I am happy with my iPhone again and am again downloading apps

So hey guys I think I got the solution to this for everyone. first you want to mark you dont have a credit card where it asks you to check which type of card you have. then re-input your address, phone number, ect. and submit that. Now you shouldnt get any invalid cvc reply and be able to update your apps, but not buy anything. at this point if you really want to get stuff, go get a itunes gift card and use that. Or wait like till the next day and thn go back into your billing account info and resubmit your credit card again with correct information or diffrent card. Then magically the problem dissapears and you can update and buy apps again 🙂 . For the waiting part I put a day to be safe, you could technically try it the same day or after an hour or something, but It didnt work for me if I tried it right way so i just waited a day to be safe. I wasnt in a hurry to buy any app and was just happy i could update again!

WOW! I had no idea everyone else was having this problem. Like everyone else here I was using a credit card for my purchases for weeks with NO problems, all of a sudden it says my security code is invalid and it wont work. I cannot do a thing with it! I even tried the suggestion of selecting the "none" credit card option but it says I owe from my card being declined from a bad security code, NOT TRUE! My card is valid and is my security code. I sent them an email and they better get back to me. I pay my bills! Seeing that it didn't go through and they are claiming it was my fault p's me off! I double, triple checked everything on my side, its all correct! Is there a number I can call? I cannot seem to find it!

The easiest way to solve this problem in which I had success was to 1. Sync your iPhone backup everything 2nd erase all your card info out of your existing apple ID to do this you must go to itunes view account information and delete the card number under the existing apple ID next hit done! Now go and create a new apple ID and put your old card information that you erased into your new apple ID card info your card security code in all will and should go through!! Hopefully you all have success!!! Me personally can't understand why or how this happens but I think I have a clue of how it happens!! Apple please fix this to prevent further headaches cause honestly who wants to do all of this!!
