Invalid Security Code - frustration !

Hello to you all Apple/Mac lovers 🙂,

I did see that someone had already posted about this earlier, only the topic was marked as solved so I'm making a new one.

Here's a little heads up for anyone who doesn't about this 😉 : when trying to add a credit card to the payment info on my iTunes store account, it says that I have to enter a valid security code - but the code I entered is already fully valid ! However many times I try I can't get it to work. Any clues, ideas, help ? Thanks a lot 🙂 !

FIX FOUND!!!

I had $8 in my paypal account I was using for this. Come to find out, even if you never purchase any paid apps, you MUST have $10 in the account. Apple pings the card now for $10 to make sure it's a valid card and purchases can be made with it. They used to ping it for $0.01 but I assume they raised it because people were downloading apps without the funds to pay for it.

I transferred money to the account and I was able to download again.

I can only assume that if you have a credit card you are using and you have- say- a $500 limit, but you are at $497... your card will not work. I noticed this is a VERY common thing around the holidays, when everyone has their cards pretty well maxed out, lol.

Hope this helps everyone!

I have tried this many times and it didn't work! I'm really frustrated and feel sorry to buy this ipad it's not a cheep investment and I have no time to spend online to find how to solve this issue anymore, this was the first "and is the last" thing I'm buying from Apple. I should have followed the Bestbuy rep advice and gone with Galaxy tap.

My Visa Debit card had been working until I got an updated one with new expiration and security code - I tried to change through my phone - did not work - I HAD TO OPEN ITUNES ON MY PC AND LOG INTO MY ACCOUNT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM - it showed where I had multiple attempts to charge my card and had failed - and allowed me to enter the new card information to process.

Works fine now.

The Hidden Dragon

Hi guys I had the same issue & I e-mail them.. in a few hours some one from the support replay to my e-mail & send me the instruction.. and finally it works!! find the replay below

Mr. Hidden Dragon, don't lose heart, since you are ready to buy from the App Store please know that you can create an account without a credit card. To create an account without a credit card, iTunes Gift Card, Gift Certificate, allowance, or code, follow the steps in this article:

Create an iTunes App Store account without a credit card

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534

If in the future, you would like to use a credit card on your account please know that Apple is not able to troubleshoot or determine the specific cause of a card being not being accepted. When a credit card is not accepted for any reason, this is a sign that something needs to be addressed by the issuer of the card being used. Your bank or credit card company will be happy to help you troubleshoot the error. Once this is resolved, please follow these steps with your bank or credit card company to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Contact your bank or credit card company and ask to speak with the fraud/security department.

2. Tell the representative that your security code is being rejected. Ask them to review your account to see what might be preventing you from using the card to purchase from the iTunes Store. Ensure that they thoroughly review your account until they locate and resolve what is causing the issue.

3. The bank or credit card company will need to remove any holds on your account. The bank or credit card company could also bypass the authorization process.

Once the bank has resolved your issue, the card should work with the iTunes Store.

I want the world to know how valuable you are to us here at iTunes and personally thank you so very much for choosing the iTunes Store. I appreciate your business.

FIX FOUND! For me anyway.

I kept getting an "invalid security code" message when I tried to download from the app store. Checked it on iTunes on my Mac and had the same problem although it was in fact my security on the back of my VISA DEBIT card. Apple used to only let you make purchases with an account that had $0.01 in funds. Now they changed it so you have to have at least $10.00 I think. I read it in this thread so I transferred money to my account (I only had $4.00 in my account) and it worked! So it's not a bank issue or even an Apple "issue", but I guess it's just new policy from Apple. Or it's not new, but it's the first time I've had the problem. But it worked!
